Airlines almost never use full TOGA power. Instead they tell the engines to pretend it's a hotter day — the "assumed" or flex temperature — which reduces thrust, engine wear, and noise while still leaving a legal safety margin on the runway. Enter the flex value in the PERF TAKEOFF page, set the levers to the FLX/MCT detent at takeoff, and the FMA reads MAN FLX. Full story in the book.
This models published A320 performance figures and real EFB behavior closely enough for home simulation — weight, flaps, altitude, temperature, pressure, wind, and runway condition all pull the numbers the way you'd expect. It is not certified performance data: your aircraft's own EFB or MCDU wins, and nothing here is for real-world use.
