What's a flex temp?

Airlines almost never use full TOGA power. Instead they tell the engines to pretend it's a hotter day — the "assumed" or flex temperature — which reduces thrust, engine wear, and noise while still leaving a legal safety margin on the runway. Enter the flex value in the PERF TAKEOFF page, set the levers to the FLX/MCT detent at takeoff, and the FMA reads MAN FLX. Full story in the book.

How accurate is this?

This models published A320 performance figures and real EFB behavior closely enough for home simulation — weight, flaps, altitude, temperature, pressure, wind, and runway condition all pull the numbers the way you'd expect. It is not certified performance data: your aircraft's own EFB or MCDU wins, and nothing here is for real-world use. If your SimBrief OFP includes a TLR section, the MCDU Guide reads its exact figures.
